I'm going to bite the bullet and order the Nordfab pipe for my dust collector . Can I get some recommendations for quality, source, and costs for flex hose?
Many thanks...

Bill,
Try Air Handling http://www.airhand.com/default.asp or Wynn Enviromental http://www.wynnenv.com/
They are both very good companies to work with.
As far as cost goes, it is highly dependant on application, hose type, and size. I recommend that you do not deal with mass market type companies. Stick with the specialists.

I purchased my flex through Oneida when I got my Gorilla.
Can't comment on cost for the others mentioned but be prepared. Good flex is expensive but worth it. Fortunatly you only want to use a small piece per tool.

Why not simply use Stove Pipe? It's metal, you can get galvanized, it's fairly rigid, you can screw and tape the connections and you can ground it. You can get it cheaply at the Borg stores.
Here is how I'd evaluate it:
What's the DC going to do??
Carry waste and air.
OK then make it from something cheap and eminently replaceable.
Any other requirements?
Yah I wouldn't want it drooping all over the place - which rules out that plastic $5.00 dryer vent hose.
In theory it might be just as well to make it from a roll of Black Plastic Drain hose with no holes. It's flexible and joins up easy. Still I'd likely go with galv steel stove pipe.
My 2 cents
bill, i don`t know what pump you`re running but i`ve sucked 8" diameter stove pipe flat before, my current configuration has a 12" trunk of 1/8" wall welded pipe with 16ga. 8" diameter drops. for flex hose i like the polyurethane offerings, go at least 20mil with wire reinforcement...02 tod

Thanks to Phil Glover, I'm leaning towards "20 mil wire re-enforced clear urethane", advertised as "super flexible". Product 05UC20 at http://www.wynnenv.com/flexible_hose.htm Anyone have anything bad to say about this choice?
Oneida sells only one kind but they don't say much about it.
McMasters polyurethane and rubber doesn't talk about flexibility.
Air Handling has lots of choices but doesn't talk about flexibility either.
bill, 20 mil seems to hold up pretty well for me and i`ve thrown a few chunks at it. i think you`ll be happy...02 tod
