    Speaking of burls

    Spotted this one on the back road to town the other day.

    Its close to 20" across. Its across a fence, so I couldn't get a close up look to see if its solid.

    Now Steve that is a honker. That thing looks hugh in the picture. Wonder how big it is up close? That would make some turning stock.

    Its oak. The rancher that owns that stretch of property gets kinda cranky of people on his property, so I figured I'd better stay outa there. That tree ia about 40' from the fence, so I'm guessing at its size. Tree is probably 30" across at the butt.

    If a tree falls in the woods and the rancher doesn't hear ... did it really make a sound???

    Have rubber hose and bucket of water ... will travel!!!
