    Birch Flame Vase....

This is a vase I made earlier in the week. This one is not a "weed pot". It is figured birch with tung oil finish. The wife will however still put dried and silk flowers etc. in it. This piece of wood actually looks like it has a fire glowing within. It was alot of fun to turn and my first venture into something like this. I did have problems keeping it in the chuck but I managed to get it rechucked each time without it being launched across the shop etc. Thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! Again, my photo sucks, this has a nice high gloss finish on it but just doesn't come thru on the photos.

Way to go Corey! You're tempting me to drive over and look at this chuck problem, as I'm using the same one. Maybe the chuck is defective or something? Well, nevertheless, that's a nice looking piece! Glad you stayed with it.
