Got some Punky Buckeye Burl Pen Blanks...

If i soak these in a poly/mineral spirits mixture for several days will it soak up and help stabilize these blanks or is there a better fix. Pretty blanks, but I don't think I can turn and sand them the way they are.
    Thanks!

Hey Corey. Mix some white glue and water in a 50-50 mixture. Soak them overnight and then let them dry. The water helps the glue soak in deeper than normal and stablizes the wood. I did this on some spalted maple and it works great. Turns nice also.

on pen blanks it also helps to soak in if you predrill them to provide more and deeper penetration
