    Tabletop Breadboard Ends

I want to put breadboard ends on a Mesquite dining table. Is there anything wrong with rounding a breadboard end and is 8" too wide?

I've attached a sketch (Excel, I'm don't have nor am I proficient in Sketchup) that hopefully shows what I'm planning.

No, there is nothing wrong with rounding the end of your table.

A small challenge with breadboards this wide is supporting them well enough. You're going to fasten these on in the usual way? That is, with tenons into the breadboard? I'd make the ones in the widest part of the breadboard at least three inches long. That's a deep mortise, but it can be done.
