    coffee stains -cherry cabinets

A whole pot of fresh hot coffee spilled down the front of solid cherry drawers. Not discovered for an hour. (auto coffee maker mal-functioned). Now I have large "white" stains on the drawer fronts. I'm not sure of what top coat used , but guessing sprayed laquer--professional install in 1982--not by me!)
    Suggestions? Help! Thanks. Larry

Look inside the cabinets and see if you can find a name of who made them, and call them for info. If there is no name take one of the drawers to a paint store and ask.

    Hopes this helps

The "white stain" (likely from both the moisture and the heat) sounds like lacquer to me, but I'm not an expert on such things...

In a "less conspicuous" place that has the finish on it, take a cotton ball/rag and dab on some DNA to see if the finish softens. If yes, think shellac. If not...do the same with lacquer thinner.
