John, from SharpeningSupplies.com, has graciously donated TWO great woodworking sharpening kits.

    FreeStuff #1
The first is the Woodworking Essentials Kit with an 8" DMT Diamond Stone with stone holder, and an 8" Norton Water Stone. From the site:
This kit is a great starting point for the beginning woodworker to start sharpening. We designed this kit to offer top quality components that are well matched for basic woodworking sharpening needs. The kit contains a 8” DMT® Duosharp® Plus Coarse/Fine stone and a Norton 4000/8000 combination waterstone. The combination of stones is ideally suited for woodworking because it takes advantage of the best attributes of both the diamond stones and waterstones.

The second is what he terms the Ultimate Woodworking Kit. It features ONE 10" DMT Diamond Stone with stone holder, and TWO 8" Norton Water Stones, with a value of $221.90. From the above link:
This woodworking sharpening kit will serve as a complete sharpening system for many years. We’ve found this to be the ultimate combination for keeping chisels and plane blades sharp. This kit contains the ultimate matched set of stones. The grits progress nicely from one grit to the next to speed up the process of sharpening. Since all the stones use water, the cleanup is fast and easy. In addition, the diamond stone is flat and stays flat. It also allows you to use easily maintain a flat surface on the softer water stones.

Funny, I had just found and explored that site before swinging by the creek. Seems like a good place to pick up some sharpening stones.

Well, Greetings all....I'm new to this forum and have learned alot in the last two days just reading posts. Coincidentally, I was also just on the Shapening site. Very nice and thank you, John for your generosity. My situation is that I have purchased many things with blades in the last year and a half and they are just now starting to need attention (especially the chisels) so I've decided that the next woodworking "technique" I learn will be how to sharpen everything I own. I look forward to reading more from everyone here.
