    Laminate on 1 side?

I made a shop cabinet with a top out of 2 layers of MDF. Now I'm thinking that I would like to cover the top with a piece of laminate. I've always heard that you should laminate the top and the bottom, but the problem is that the cabinet top is already attached to the cabinets and there is no way I could laminate the bottom of the cabinet top.

Will it cause problems if I only put laminate on the top?

    Thanks

    Bob,
Most countertops I've built, taken out, imagined...had it on one side. Not to worry...

Bob, I built all my shop counter tops with a single sheet of MDF and 1 layer of laminate. They worked just fine. MDF is pretty stable stuff.
If sawdust were gold, I'd be rich!
