I scored the books too! Our local library had their annual Friends book sale. I had about 10% of the 10' x 7' section full before, but now, it's 95% full. For around $50 I was able to get Ludlum, Grishom, Kootz, No WW .

BTW, there's another small bookcase on the opposite wall I use for my Technical manuals, programming and computer books.

The case is Birch Ply & solid Birch for the face and banding of shelves.
Finished with Olympic "Red Mahogany" stain, and 4 coats of DEFT Brushable Laquer.

It took longer to finish, than to build!

Very nice, Gary. Don't fill them up too fast. We have a problem with not enough shelf space. We constantly have to weed out books to make room for new ones. It kills me to get rid of books.
    Nice job.

Well, she is pleased, but the room is actually my office so, it is really for me (or at least she lets me think so ). She actually did the finishing part. She has much more paitence than I.

When we scored the books, 3 shelves are strickly 'disposible'. Meaning, I don't collect those authors. So, once I read them, I'm open to re-donating them and replacing them with either more disposible books or if I come across a title of an author or book I do want to collect, I won't feel guilty about getting rid of the book.

They are beautiful, and quite inspirational as I am ready to tackle four bookshelves for my wife's office, starting Monday.
