    Extraordinary Measures

...were necessary to make good on the annual promise of fried turkey. Stuck in the tail end of a noreaster required a double wind screen and garbage can lid unbrella to keep the rain and the hot oil separated. Anybody else have this problem? Haven't even started to cook yet so I may update the photo's later. Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

    Ted,

I hope you were successful. It's been in the upper 60's to lower 70's here in Alabama much of this week with sunshine and mild breezes. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family.
    Thanks & Happy Wood Chips,

I don't know, John. I might opt for a ham sandwich and do the turkey on a calmer day. I can be thankful without the trimmings if necessary.

I put two 18# turkies on my rotissere outside.
If it's cold or rainy I simply adjust the heat upward a bit.
