    Red oak bowl

Made as a gift for a friend who dropped a giant oak crotch off at my house last year. Roughed and dried almost a year ago, finish turned today. Buffed and waxed. 8 1/2" in diameter. I just noticed some more lint to pick out

No good for ice cream, but hazelnuts don't fall through the hole

Not good for ice cream Joe but a beauty indeed. I like it. Form and finish look great. Nice job.

Sure does work for ice cream. The hole is for your thumb like in a painter's pallette board and allows for excellent bowl control while watching the Bruins beat the pants off the Rangers.

    Nice one, Joe!

Who said you can't make bowls out of oak? Beautiful piece of work! You are going to sign it aren't you?

Very well done Joe! You and Chris have sure shot down the theory about not being able to do good work with red oak!
