    Question ShopNotes Router Sled

Has anyone made this ShopNotes Rouster Sled? Vol. 15 Issue 87. http://www.shopnotes.com/issues/087/

I would be interested to know how you like it.

The only problem that I see, is that it appears that the bit is BARELY held in the collet! Or maybe his shank is way longer than mine. That sled is pretty thick.

I would agree about the thickness of the bottom. Just yesterday, I printed the Fine Woodworking article for Pat Warner's end grain sled (article- Get the Most from your Router Table). His sled also uses 3/4 mdf on the bottom. I will use 1/4 masonite or baltic birch ply for the bottom. I have been playing around with my lock miter bit and it really needs a sled for both the piece sliding on the table and for the piece that slides on the fence.
