    Problem with Lunchbox Planer

I have a 10" Ryobi planer that was working great but has gradually become a problem. The blades are sharp; the problem is with the feed mechanism. I have to "assist" pieces through the planer. If I don't they often stall or the feed rate varies. The surface sometimes is a bit lumpy. I've never had it apart to look at the feed rollers etc. Is there a standard fix for this problem?

    Thanks
    Hans

Clean the feed rollers with some Denatured Alcohol or Mineral Spirits. Since you're cleaning, go ahead and put a little paste wax onthe table too.

Whenever I experience feed problems with my Delta lunchbox, I stop and wax the table. That has always solved the problem.

What Guy and Lee said. While your in there, CAREFULLY clean the knives of any gunk or chips that have become lodged between the knife edge and the mounting. This quick effort removed my similar problems with my planer.
