    How thick are the fronts? If it's been mentioned, I missed it. But from the last SU drawing if the 1/8" face difference is to scale, I'm guessing the fronts are maybe 5/8" ?? Which would mean the DT depth is 1/2" ?? I'd think you could decrease that to 3/8" without any problems.

    Fronts are 3/8" thick and DT depth is 1/4". Going to thicker fronts may be the best answer.

    Yikes. My guess was WAY off. 1/2" with a 5/16" deep DT would sure make me feel better if it were my project. I also wondered about through wedged tenons with the wedges made of a contrasting color wood. I've seen a few jewelry box pics doing that and they looked pretty sweet.
