Thumbs up A visit to Ken's shop last week.

Here's a pic of one of Ken's projects--said it took him a year to make, a piece here, a piece there. Oh, yeah, and my kids had a good time there, too.

I really enjoyed the visit from the Roehl Family. Especially getting to see 3 more of my adopted Grandkids . The only problem was they were pressed for time in order to get to Jason's Sister's house.

p.s. It is a good thing the kids look like Kristine

Ok Jason.....NOW I know that you can drive into the "south" and that you do travel around.....I will be expecting you and your family at the Central States BBQ next year....just go ahead and make plans for it.

Glad to see you and the family had a good time. Ken has some pretty cool stuff that he has done over the years. I hope you gave him a "little bit" of a hard time while there.....somebody has too...

Good afternoon from North Central Florida!!!!!!

The temp went down to 30 the other night and the old bones in this body didn't like that to much. It is up into the mid 60's at the moment but will get down into the low 40's again tonight.

Good looking bunch of young ladies that were showing off that nice looking train behind them. Where did you get the plans for the train KEN? Or is his something you built off of the top of your head!!!!!

    KEN here also

Not to be picky, but the 2 on the right are my boys---Paul and Caleb. (You'd know it if you saw how they acted around bugs and other living creatures. ) Anna is my little princess, though.

Ken, I got the blueprints many years ago from a company called Baldwin Toy Co Inc which has been out of business for some time now. They use to make these trains complete at a price of $3000.00. I manage to get the prints - which really left a lot to be desired and it was a real chore to make. A lot of interpretations of the drawings had to be made and it took forever. But, being as hard headed as I am, I kept plugging away until it was finished (over a year).

The FINE looking train reminded me of a conversation I had with my wife the other day.

We were driving along and out of the blue, I asked her if she knew what a cow catcher was. She didn't. I explained it to her. I pondered to myself what the cow and train would have both looked like when they met @ about 60 mph.

Not sure why I felt the need to share that. Oh well.
