New Tool Cabinet - In progress

While building my son a new tool cabinet a friend noticed the cabinet in my wood shop and asked if I would build him one. So, not one to waste time I started the drawing for the new cabinet the next day. Well, the measured drawing is done and I have now stated constructing the paneled sides.
You can find a copy of the measured drawing and see photos of the progress on my web site. So far all of the stiles and rails for the sides are done and waiting for panels and glue up.

    Nice Plans

    Ron,

The measured drawing looks great. What software do you use? That's a nice cabinet.

Hello Teresa, the measured drawing was created using Visio. I like software and find it easy to use. Ron

Excellent pictorial Ron! Thanks for posting and giving so much detail. I love reading and seeing things like this that give me so much motivation to try it myself. Step by step is the way for me and you've done that and then some. Again, much appreciated and keep up the great progress.

Today has been a glue & clamp day. But, both the upper & lower units are glued, clamped and drying over night. Tomorrow I start with the face framing.

A little more progress tonight. The upper & lower units were clamped together for a test fit and the face frames were cut and installed. Next phase will be constructing the drawers and doors but that may have to wait as my wife & I take or annual trip to the keys next week. See the progress pictures HERE.

After a weeks vacation to the Flordia Keys (it beats the upstate New York cold! I wasn't able to find one snow shovel in the keys.) I had some time today to get the drawers finished. I'll start the doors later this week. More pictures of the drawer progress are HERE.

Hello Luke, The drawer slides are European drawer slides. I bought these at Home Depot but they are standard drawer slides that can be found at most any home center and in sizes from 10" to about 26". They are not full extension and are less expense than a full extension slide. Ron
