Drilling Jig from Fred in NC

I just wanted to tell everyone about a pretty cool drilling jig I just got.

The silver vertical post is a single machined piece of steel, that is flat on the backside. Because it is flat on the backside, you can get it right up tight to your turned piece of wood. There is a black "set collar" with an allen screw on the base of the post, that allows you to move the jig up and down to center it on your workpiece.

The little black bushing where you see the drill bit running through it is an industry standard thread, which allows you to use 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8" size bushings. The bushings are fairly cheap and easy to get and replace if you would happen to "booger" one up. If for some reason the head of your drill bit or boring tool is larger than the shank, you can run the shank backwards through the bushing and then chuck it up in your drill or tool.

The post on mine is 5/8" to fit the Jet mini lathe that I have, but they might be available in other sizes as well. I don't know for sure. In this picture, the drill bit is 1/4"
I took this picture without the drill, so that you could see better. I think in this case, a picture really does say a thousand words. If anyone has any questions, feel free to yell (or post...)
    .

Fred is not a relative, I have no financial interest in the product, yada yada yada, you know. Larry

    Cool jig!

Larry, I tried googling and yelling but could not find Fred in NC.

Could you provide a link or company name, please.

    Thanks

    Drilling Jig contact Info

Sure, his email address is fred@turningstuff.com.

I've bought a couple other jigs from him, including an indexing jig that goes along with this pretty nicely.

Sorry I didn't hear you yell, must have been outside... Larry
