    Posting pictures w/thumbnails

Is there a nice neat little step-by-step tutorial on posting pictures here? I've read the stickys about pictures but it wasn't quite what I thought I needed to know. I think I understand the inline thing. The in the box at the end of the post thing is unclear.

Some of you post thumbnails that pop up into nice sized pictures to view. How do you do that? Are they (both the thumbnail and the picture hosted here?)

Each forum I frequent has its own procedure. This is overwhelming for me. So I am writing a personal "recipe" for posting. This forum is the only one that I see the thumbnail feature possible.

    All help appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks, Glen. I had already read that but it doesn't deal with thumbnails.

Okay..now I see what you are asking.

When you upload a jpg picture to the SMC server it reduces it in size (thumbnail?) in the post so that when you click on it it will open in another webpage full size. If you put you mouse on the picture you can see the picture info which includes the full size. It was set up like to so those with dial up can see the reduced size and then decide if they want to look at full.
Am I confusing you or helping?
Here's a picture that is 89.9 KB which should load as a smaller pic...then if you click on it it will open full size.

Thanks, Glen. That is exactly what I mean. What I discern from your post is that the picture I upload is automatically saved as a thumbnail by SMC's server and then offered to the viewer as the thumbnail for them to decide to view as full size.

Nancy, thanks for the PM. I have saved it and will delve into it later. Also replied via PM.

Pictures posted as pure attachments or inline all are "auto-thumbnailed" to save bandwidth for folks just browsing threads.
