Walking cane with a wiggle (pics)

Here is my latest cane project but with a twist, sort of. It was made like my last one a
month or so ago using fifteen 1/16" strips. I first had to soak the handle ends in water
and then bend them around a piece of 3" PVC pipe and clamp them individually overnight.
I had cut a oak board with the "wiggle" as a form to use to clamp the shaft to make the
bends. The woods are maple and walnut and bent quite well. I then sprayed it with PRE-
CAT. It has not been cut to length yet because I don't know who will be using it. I not
real sure why I making these but they are fun to do.

Beautiful workmanship! As a guy with a recently broken leg I could use one hopefully soon. But I think I would rather hang yours on display rather than risk a scratch or nick. Thanks for sharing, always nice to see what other WW's are up to.

That's pretty neat. I love the wiggle in the middle. It makes it look almost like a striped garter snake

That's a pretty neat stick, Dave. Does the wiggle provide any spring effect?

Really neat. Love the curves and the contrasting wood. Unique.

Very cool, Dave. I think of cane projects periodically when the doc tells me I might need a 4th knee surgery. Don't want to use one but who knows. If I gotta, it might as well be a cool one.
Where did I put that tape measure...

As one who should be using a cane on occasion, I have to say thanks for posting this, I hadn't thought of making one until now...thanks.

Nice work. Every time I see somebody using one of those ugly aluminum canes, I think that they deserve better.

Dave: Funky cane. It looks great! You said you "sprayed it with PRE-CAT", I was wondering what that is?
    Thanks,
