    Lathe-less in Houston

Lathe-less in Houston and another one bites the dust!! Well four things accomplished today:
    1. Sold the 1442VSK and got what I asked. He got a bargain but it was worth it because:
    2. We added another soul to the Dark Side , His name is Charlie so be looking for him. I sent him on his way with some wood and a great lathe.
    3. Rusty another new Houston Turner came over and helped my son and Charlie load the lathe. I had major back surgery last Tuesday and so I wasn't able to contribute to the lifting. Rusty left with some more wood and some other goodies.
My son Chris helped me by wiring up the 220 for "Beauty" and the Vacuum pump as well as a new Buffer Rig I am putting together.

All in all I'd say it has been a great day!

Good one Christopher, looks like you will be ready, but will you be able to hold a gouge ????? , or stand for hours on ending fun and furry. I hope to get to the Pecan you sent soon, it did split right up the middle but I can get some shallow boxes out of it .

I figure I will after some of the Mustard owners come over and try their hand. I probably won't get her until about June so all should be well by then. Keep me in your prayers, the withdrawal is killing me already!

Chris hope your back is coming along. Don't do anything to make it worse. My prayers are with my friend.

Timing is everything...hopefully, you'll at least be able to hover over the new machine and occasionally polish the ways until you're back is ready to rock 'n roll! And remember, when you do start turning again, strive for a comfortable and fluid posture to keep the strain away. I'd shoot some down to you, Chris; but the inspectors at the US/TX border would likely impound it. Foreign sales are not my forte

    Hey Chris,
Do ya NEED a loaner till your new lathe comes in to make pens, or other such real small things that will not hurt your back?
If so, just ask and we can ccomidate you......

Thanks everybody, I'm being careful and conditioning for the big race! I plan to be ready. Andy, I'd like to say it is a government thing but the truth is, some of these agents down here still think this is the old west. To them, confiscation is their idea of fair compensation. Ye Haw!! And after all it is the coveted "Moxie" we're talking about.
