What kind of chuck do you have Garth? Is it a Brace?

It is in the mail so I am not sure of the difference. It is an "egg beater" type. Is a brace the one one that looks like a large "C"?

    Hi Gath,

You can use regular twist drill bits and small brad points as long as the shan fits in the chuck. Several different sizes were made with some intended for small bits, but the larger egg beater drills can handle larger shanks.

Yep, braces have the handle which is off axis from the pad and chuck. Here's a few...

Ones with the Spofford type chuck:

    And ones with ratcheting chucks:

Thanks; Mike it seems you have more drills than hands!

Nah, for the most part, I keep various different bits and counter sinks and what not in each one.

Braces and drills can be a slippery slope all its own--so be careful!

I've even spun some smaller forstners in my larger egg beater.
