    Cherry Birch

    One of the taller forms in the DNAA thread. Couldn't resist at least one turning today. Color coat of BLO only, will go poly for the finals.

    Some say it's a genetic sport of yellow birch, some claim it's a different species. George V has some gorgeous stuff turned from the same.

    I like this "fresh" form, George, and it looks nice in that particular species. Thanks for sharing it.

    George, sometimes I see that in the birch out here in Idaho. strange as one part of the tree will have some lite flame mixed with the dark and some will have the lighter brown with pink in it mixed with real lite tan color.

    I love that bowl... the tall shape of that is really cool! The wood is awesome as is the finish. You do some awesome work (despite your scary roughing-out techniques )
