It looked good online, and now it looks pretty
darn spiffy in my workshop!!!
Not a gloat without pics, so here she is unpacked
and ready to tune-up. I'll follow with more pics and
maybe a little "review" tomorrow!

Looks like part of the 'Great White Fleet'. Nice.
Hunter,
That's a fine looking piece of machinery!
Congratulations!
Clint
NICE!! Congrats on a great addition to your shop, Hunter!

The most expensive tool is the one you buy "cheaply" and often...
Hunter, I have the exact same jointer, mine is from Wilke but there are identical and it works great. Tables were nice and flat and the fence only had a very slight twist but it was near the end of the outfeed table. I cut quite a few rabbets as well on this machine. I did rewire mine to heavier SO cord and built a base so the 980 lbs is now mobile...
Sweaaaat!
Hunter very nice, is this the exact same as grizzley's version ?
Howie
Hunter, you lucky dog. Excellent gloat. Congrats.

That is a beauty and I wish you many happy years of sawdust making on that monster. 'Alan
Alan T. Thank God for every pain free day you live.
Yup...a wise man (first name starts with J, last name with a B) once told
me the white would look better in my shop than Griz Green...and I tend to
agree
Yes, I'm pretty sure it is. The specs said it did NOT have a lighted
off/safety switch and only had a single belt. But after giving her the
once over I found that it did in fact have all the same features as the
Griz machine. Only problem is that I got the ShopFox for $200 less AND
had it forklifted right into place in my workshop. Woe is me
Well, I've got a picture here with just what you were looking for!
The fit and finish were pretty much what I expected...things were "close".
Some paint overspray and sanded spots on the table where the final
inspection team was making sure it didn't have any glaring rust spots!
The one thing that threw me for a few seconds was that the UP/DOWN
label for the outfeed table wheel is backwards...it's the same as the label
on the infeed wheel, whereas the wheels spin counter to each other.
Luckily I was smarter than the label (for once!)
It cuts like a dream with the 4 knife head, and I never knew that on "real"
jointers the knives also have cutting edges on the rabbeting side!
So, overall I'm super happy with the machine so far. For the $$ I just
couldn't see anything else out there that would give me the sort of
longterm power and flexibility this machine offers. I suppose some day
I'll upgrade the head to the Byrd Shelix head, but for now it works great
on figured woods...WIDE figured woods!!!
(Oh, and while I was at it I got the new Steel City 1 1/2HP dust
collector foreground of the second picture)
Could you give me an idea of how big this machine is? Table length is one thing but how about width and height?
Nice gloat
