    just a bowl

It's not a very large bowl 5 inch across 2 inch high. Nothing special as far as wood goes. I think the man said soft maple. The finish is just a friction polish. What is special is that it's my first bowl. Took a class a the local Woodcraft. Learned a ton of stuff and had a very good time.

I might hate you. That would be a fine looking piece for a 30th bowl never mind a first.

Definitely NOT "just a bowl!" It is a VERY nice ice cream container

That is such a great first... there are several on here who have turned beautiful firsts! Makes me mad... we can only turn one first and mine is nothing to be proud of Congratulations on a first bowl... you did a fine job!

I want to say thanks to all for for those encourageing words. Must tell you that I tried a second bowl today and as of yet have not found all the pieces. There wasn't enough left over for a scoop.
    Thanks again
