Gary,
So what is the verdict on the replacement jointer? Unless I have missed something have you had time to unpack it and set it up?
I did get the new jointer downstairs about 30 minutes ago tho. Not as many helpers showed up as I would have liked. So me and another guy took care of it. My back is feeling it too.
The original jointer is boxed and crated and ready to be taken back by Roadway shipping (2nd and 3rd jointer shipper - geez that looks ridiculous when I read it) tomorrow. No, I didn't take any pics of it, because I'm tired of looking at it.
Mr. Frampton did put a surprise in the cabinet. See the pics. Some nice General merchandise. He's been very helpful and conscientious.
This weekend is my son's birthday so I don't know how far I'll get setting it up. I've got to remove the cosmoline, wire it, replace the head with my byrd and then get the tables on the cabinet (ouch again). The planer is about all dialed in, I just need to run some boards through and take some final measurements.
I'll post a final once I get the thing all set up and running. Thanks again for your continuing patience and support.
Where did I put that tape measure...
Those are exceptional goodies!
Gary, I think you should start a new thread when you get that beauty up and running.
Where's the Redmond jacket & hat?????
I must say that I commend you for sticking it out with General. This whole thing was caused by no fault of there's but they came through for sure! I would have given up on the whole deal long ago. I will certainly give General a hard look on my next tool purchase. I can't say that I would have before now.

IMO, big kudo's to General. Pretty obvious they care about their customers. Enjoy.
Another thumbs-up to General's perseverance (and yours).
Did you photograph the crate (box, carton, or whatever) before you opened it? Did you keep the wrapping paper or cardboard? Did you have witnesses who saw the crate? The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Mr. Frampton sure gets a thumbs up from me!! That kind of caring goes a long way with me. I sure hope the jointer is in working condition. Enjoy it Gary.
way to Go and General too, I have been a very happy Green customer now for over 10 years, you might call my shop a 5 General Shop!
Take care,
Jim
