    The damaged jointer is gone

It took awhile, but the original damaged jointer is finally gone. Of course, the driver initially said I didn't have the correct paper work - just to add a nice final element of suspense. Dispatch told him to just take it and they'd figure it out.

When my hand heals and I can finish putting together the new one, I'll post a pic.

Hopefully you got some kind of paperwork proving you gave it to them. I can just see something coming up later when it gets lost. I wonder if Mr. Frampton will let you know what they find when it arrives?

Good to hear, Gary. To speed up the healing a little, go to the local health food store and get some "Arnica" It's a homeopathic remedy that promotes healing. LOML found 3 Great Dane puppies running loose yesterday, went to put one back in the yard, and momma dog took exception to her at the gate and bit her. Sliced the finger pretty bad so she tells me. I haven't seen the cut yet, but the cut she compared it to that I had a few years back says it's pretty nasty. She has been taking the Arnica since and the swelling is already going down in less than 24 hours. She took the other 2 pups back to the lady later in the day, and it never dawned on her to ask about rabies vaccination!!! You won't have to worry about that, but have you checked your tetnus lately? Jim.

    Thanks, everyone for your support

The damaged jointer is gone. The new jointer is all set up and dialed in. The shelix head cuts very smoothly.

Oops, looks like I didn't get all the wax off the tables.

Once again, I'd like to thank Mr. Frampton and all the rest of the staff at General for stepping in unsolicited and helping me through this. Thank you for getting me a new, functional jointer and all the nice General swag. That was very generous.

I want to thank all of you Creekers that made helpful suggestions to resolving this thing. I also want to thank all of you for putting up with this long story.

Thanks also to Redmond Machinery for agreeing to Mr. Framptons suggestions for resolving this situation, and having the sale in the first place.

That pile of cherry you can see behind the jointer will be a big piece of furniture in my son's room in the coming future. Lots of jointing and planing ahead of me...

Yes, that was it in pics. I took me awhile, because I injured my hand last weekend.

Congratulations Gary. I'm excited for you. It looks like you have a lot of work "lined up," ready to go. I'm sure looking forward to seeing all that cherry turned into furniture.

Mr. Frampton, if you're reading this, I have become a fan of your company through this post and what I've seen at woodworking shows. As soon as I'm able to set up my full shop, hopefully in the next couple of years, I will definately check out your line of tools when I purchase new machines for the shop. Your customer service and care for your customer in this case has been outstanding. It's nice to know that people like you and the company you represent are still around. Thank you for stepping in and helping Gary out of the mess he was in.

Congrats Gary! I know you are glad to get this behind you and on to doing the woodworking you wanted the machine for. I too congratulate Mr. Frampton and General Tools for going above and beyond in getting this done for Gary. Now, back to our regularly scheduled discussions!! Jim.

Is that the "favorable post" that Redmond was asking for?

Hey, new man here. Just read my first full 11 page Thread. What a roller coaster ride! Glad its gonna work out for you Gary. Well, since i'm about to buy several large pieces of wood working equipment. I think i'll find out what the written law says about inspecting delivered frieght in my state. Big addition onto small workshop. Just broke ground. That hurts. Been picking up tips here. Nice forum. Good bunce. Glad i'm here. Gary, show us the first thing you make using the new jointer.

    Finally!
Quite the story, but a happy ending, congrats.

btw, don't feel bad about cutting yourself, I used a bunch of band aids, some duct tape and a paper towel or two to stop the bleeding from just cleaning my jointer when I first got it, so least there's two of us who discovered how sharp them blades are...the hard way...
