    A Few More Pens

Having a blast turning these pens Done more than a dozen now and gave most of them away.

Heres a few I turned today.

Left one is a pencil turned out of Scrub Oak.
    The next is Box Elder.
The 3rd is a knarly piece of Box Elder burl ... Beautiful wood and by far my favorite so far.
The last one is Russian Olive, very pretty wood.

All of them finished with CA and BLO.

    Comments/Critiques always appreciated...

    Happy Turning,
    Shane Whitlock

Wow! You're jumping right into the pen stuff - and doing a really good job at it! All are great looking but have to admit that the Box Elder Burl really stands out! Really nice work Shane!

Shane those are some very nice looking pens. Great job. I have just started using the CA/BLO finish followed by buffing. I think I like the Renaissance wax best for the final touch up.

    Thanks for the comments everyone

Bernie I have had great results with the CA/BLO too. Works great for bowls and hollow forms too. I have read good things about the Renaissance wax, will have to get some and give it a try, thanks.
