    Tools in the making

Thanks to Joe T, Keith B, Jim K, and Travis S for all the design and measurements, I'm getting a few tools done. Travis had given me a little D handle, so I made a few to pass on his generosity.

In the middle is an octagon steady rest... I still need to get the wheels. Then there are four D handles and two tool rests for minis, and two more D handles and tool rests for bigger lathes. I still have to prime and paint them, but I am happy to be this far. I've welded a few things before when I needed to glob some metal together, so this has been a real challenge.

No, I'm not using them all. One of the big ones is sort of a bomb, but I had to tell the guy because he was talking about buying one. I'm keeping one little one, one big one, and the steady.

  9. Ernie, when I first saw these pics I thought sure you were welding up a new rack for your lawnmower to hold some scuba gear/air tanks. Glad to hear you're accessorizing the lathe...

Never put off until tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

To succeed in life, you need three things: a wishbone, a backbone and a funnybone.

I think it's a conspiracy... There's not really any picture, is there? Maybe it's like the emperor's new clothes.. if I squint hard enough will I see it?

Looking good Ernie! I can see the pic fine, but if I refresh, I get the red X. I saved the pic and will post it to quell any conspiracy theorys.
