Lee Valley Suede Tex vs velvet lining???

I'm planning a jewelry box for TLOML. Of course I really want to make this special so I'm asking advice here on lining the inside.

LV has a " Flocking Kit" that looks like it may be just what I'm looking for. My only concern is will it rub off? I really don't like to glue "velvet" down but it is tried and true.

Also...ring holders. Has anyone made one? Looks like I could cover some slotted stiff foam and use the flocking...but how would it react to the adhesive. Should I just use velvet?

    Thanks...

    Glenn,

I have used the Suede Tex and had good results. It does not seem to rub off once you have shaken all the loose particles off after the glue has cured for 24 hours or so. Might not take that long, it just happens that is usually how long it has set before I get back to it. Be sure to seal the wood with shellac, or something, before you apply the adhesive and don't skimp on the adhesive.

I have not used this on foam so can't help you there. All I can tell you is try some on a sample and see what happens.

    Good luck,
    Bob
