    Ebonized Mahogany Endgrain Bowl

This is a small end grain bowl I made for a friends birthday. It is about 6" tall and 2.5" in diameter. The walls are about 1/8" thick uniformly throughout. The two micro beads are a carryover from my week with Alan Lacer and the entire outside of this bowl was done with a skew only. The inside was done with a Oneway Termite. I use TransTint black dye to do the ebonization and it is finished with wax. I'm sorry that the pictures aren't any better but, I think I've reached the limitations of my camera on this kind of macro stuff. All comments and critiques are welcome.

That is a beauty Chris. I really like the form on it. Well done.

Thats a nice shape. I really like the way it balances stands on its foot. Something about that really tickles me. Maybe because it looks so tall in comparison to the size of its foot? Not sure. Great job.

Beautiful turning. Great job with the ebonizing. I would love a week with Alan. The Skew is a dangerous weapon in my hands and scares the H*** out of me.

Very purdy, Chris!!! I really love ebonized work, especially when it's a more open species that provides texture to the monochrome!

Thanks everyone. Looking at the last two pictures it kind of looks like a big black hollow point bullet with rings but, it's supposed to have an "African" theme to it so that's why I chose that shape and color.
