Thought I would share these. Efforts of the last week.
Osage Orange 13X4
Spalted Boxelder 11X4
Hickory 9X5
The hickory is stained, cracked and chipped like crazy.. but I love the color and the way it finishes. I think the cracks look good
The box elder was punky and took forever to get a clean surface and its still only 90%.
The Osage Orange was real work. The big pieces are not much fun and take forever, but they are pretty when finished. Every piece Ive roughed out and let dry has cracked to the point it was waste. But, if skip drying I finish a piece..no cracking. Im not sure what this is about, but I think a thinner piece can flex enough that it doesnt crack as it moves.
Thanks for looking,
Tom
