    First custom order!

I was just commissioned to make a statesman rhodium/gold roller for a friends wedding (to sign the guestbook). This is a friend, so I had already offered to make him a pen at the cost of materials. So... no big income from this one, but I'm pretty excited that there will be a few dozen people holding and using one of my pens. I guess I need to print more business cards.

Any suggestions or things to watch out for? I assume that the statesman's are the same as the gentlemen's.

    Congratulations !!

I would watch out for someone stealing the pen. Put a LoJac on it

Congrats Patrick! Has to make you feel good that for such an important event your friend thought of you and your talent for making unique pens! Hope you get a ton of orders as a result!

Sounds great. You might want to have a back-up roller ink cartridge ready. Normally the roller cartridge that comes with the kit should be fine but I did have one that stopped flowing after very little use (probably a defect in the cartridge). In any case, this is a day that you want to make sure the pen writes flawlessly.
If you are going to bring some cards, bring a couple of different pens as well. They won't take much space in your suit pocket and people like to see models of what they might buy.
    Have fun,
    Ben

Way to go Patrick. Maybe your friend will give you permission to put a few of your other pens on the table too.
