    Jason, My compliments on a piece well executed,and well finished. Where else would the Shakers have put their CD's? They must have had these sorts of pieces.
    One week is a pretty good pace for this guy. Is the back a cabinet ply, or did you lay up the veneer yourself?
    I would enjoy seeing more of your work.

    Alan, thanks for the kind words. The back of the cabinet is 1/4" book matched Walnut (solid). The piece of Walnut I had wasn't wide enough so I put the pieces of cherry in. One solid piece might have looked better, but at the time I liked the look of the two thinner cherry strips. My version of creativity

    I always say that you can only take what the wood will give you.
    Looks great. Hope you were not insulted about the veneer comment. I don't look down on it at all, but I know that some do.
