Tom, how did things go with your entertainment cabinet? What finishing routine did you follow?

    dyes and water stains

i have noticed that the three brands of waterbased stains get much darker (than oils on oak) but also tend to rub off a little around the corners.
I assume this is because the stain is a combo of pigments (big?) and dyes (small?). Since water based stains dry so much faster, i wont need to sand between coats- but it almost seems like I am wiping the stain off when I wipe excess too hard.

**will i see similar results with the transdyes or water based dyes?
