Thread: general sander oil

    general sander oil

    i need to know what kind of oil to put in my general spindle sander . 15020m1 is the model number . it has an oil bath . any help would be great .

    Tom, I have an old 2 spindle shaper that has oil cups and bearings that run in oil mist. I use 10W non detergent available at Tractor Supply. I imagine other farm supply stores would have it as well. You can also check out Mcmaster Carr. They have various spindle oils. If this is an old machine, go to owwm.com. This is a group dedicated to old woodworking machines. They should be able to help with the type of oil to use.
