Cleaning a Porter Cable 690 router

Porter Cable 690 has many stains and other foreign things built up on it. I have tired to clean the aluminum moter with a household scrubbing abrasive product.

On another forum it was suggested that I sand blast the unit with a small portable sand blasting unit.

    Anyone have any suggestions.

    Thank

Embrace those stains and be proud of them. Power tools are made to work and those stains should be a source of pride for you!

I can think of many more productive things to do in the workshop than cleaning the stains off of my routers. Now, corrosion is another matter. You definitely want to clean that off or it can lead to problems down the road.
