I assume this is a scam of some kind

Has anyone else gotten an email from:
    Wood Magazine [woodmagazine_email@marketing.meredith.com]

Saying you've been selected to get a free two year subscription?

I assume its a scam because of the email address. Maybe I'll actually get the subscription, but I also figure I'll get on a million marketing lists - which makes it not worth it to me.
Where did I put that tape measure...

    Gary,

Wood is published by Meredith Publishing Group. The editor's e-mail is bill.krier@meredith.com. It could be legit, but I haven't heard of anyone else getting the e-mails. Hmmmmmm??

It's a valid offer, although mine arrived via snail mail. I have already received the first magazine.

I think that's the deal I got a year or so ago. I had let my subscription lapse, but picked it back up because that was so cheap.
