    Wonder Wife

I know you all been teasing me about the newbie turner entering into the vacuumed vortex of endless space. And that I'll be saying a lot of "Honey, can I...."

But I want you to know that my Wonderful Wife surprised me yesterday evening by stopping at Sears on the way home and bought me a Chain Saw. All unbeknown by me. I didn't even realize she new I was wanting a chain saw. Now this might not have been a first choice, but it fits the bill for right now. (40cc 18 inch)

Here you can see I whacked out that (side of the road) Cherry and in no time at all.

    Have a Nice Day!

Jon - congrats on your new chainsaw - I'm sure you will get plenty of use out of it! Looking forward to seeing a bowl or two out of your cherry stockpile!

I second your wife meeting my wife. Hopefully your wife would rub off on mine, not the other way around, else you would curse me!!!
Be a mentor, it's so much more fun throwing someone else into the vortex, than swirling it alone!

If you have the same experience that I did (with that saw), you will be quite pleased! I have 2 Husqvarna saws now, but I used that one HARD for a year and it never let me down.
OH, if you don't have a backup saw (for when you pinch your primary, you can get a second bar and chain(s) and just take the one off and use the same motor.
My wife too goes out of her way to make my turning life easier, she often tells me of road crews and logging sites that she sees in her travels!

Congrats Jon. I have the same saw along with my new Stihl. The C-man saw has served me well and is still cutting. Woodturners wives are wonderful.

A wife who will support you and what you want sounds like a "Proverbs 31" woman. You are a lucky man. Look after her.

    Hey, thanks everyone.

No, she does not have a sister. (sorry) The only person she is suppose to rub up against is me . And I know I've got a good one!

AND get this. She said there might be some money to purchase or at least help purchase the Hollowing system I've been looking at. (I have been telling her about ... Monster Tools).

She was not at all interested any other wood working I've done in the past and she hated the idea of taking the time to scroll but she has shown some interest in turning. So there might be an another motive behind it all. But I can live with that.
    Have a Nice Day!

Well, that's a mighty fine spouse you have there! And I suspect you're going to be giving her the chance for a spin real soon now. (At the lathe, Jon...this is a family forum... )
