Lightbulb Toy Train with Carvewright (ideas?)

I have this idea to spell out a child's name in both sides of a 2"x3" x (??length) board with my CarveWright machine - and make a toy train out of the results.
    • The letters would be double-spaced so I can cut the board (letters)into individual blocks and round over the edges.
    • Install four wooden wheels on pegs to each individual block.
    • Drill the blocks lengthwise and thread them together with a tiny chain.
    • Run a screw up into the bottom of each block to lock the chain and maintain uniform spacing.
    • Fabricate a simple engine and caboose using similar wooden wheels.
Add a short pull rope and viola, we have a "NAME TRAIN".

What do you think about this?
Any ideas to dress up the train? (easy details)

    Thanks,

    Rob

That sounds like a cool idea! You could also use 3/4" stock and have the machine drill the axle hole, round the edges and cut each out to shape. Make lefts and rights, put a saw kerf along the backs (for the chain channel) then glue the halves together.
