Over the winter I will need to make a bunch of flyfishing landing nets. I've done many of these in the past but in the near future I will need to make a bunch all at once.
In the past I have cut the strips for the net frame thin enough that they would bend around the form to laminate the frame(about 1/8" thick). However, I would like to use thicker strips so steam bendin might be in order. I have 3 questions:
1. Using walnut, maple and purpleheart, about 3/4" wide X 3/8" thick, how long will the strips need to steam?
2. How long will the strips need to stay clamped on the form to "set"?
3. How long should I wait before actually gluing up the strips?
Thanks.
