Thread: Pecan crotch bowl

    Pecan crotch bowl

This is a little 8 x 3 inch Pecan bowl. The finish is antique oil buffed with all three wheels.

Some may remember about 4 moths ago I put out word here that their was a Pecan orchard near my house that was going to be demolished. I know myself and at least 5 others creekers took some wood out of the orchard before they leveled it. This is from that score.

    Critiques are welcome

That's quite the bowl Mike! Classic form, beautiful grain and color and a really nice finish! Hope you have a lot of this wood stashed for turning - it's great stuff!

Another nice one Mike. You're not leaving me much to critique these days.
I have been eyeing some of mine to finish turn for x-mas gifts.

I still have some of that Pecan to rough out, and more that's been roughed and is drying. One of these days I'll get around to finishing some of it.

Another good looking piece, it has the Vickery style to it, and that's not a bad thing, just pointing out that you do have a style of your own.
