The problem is the shipping, which for me is twice the cost of the tool itself. So I got the same thing (orange in color) from HF for $147 minus 15% during the recent past sale. Had to pay tax, of course, but no shipping.Originally Posted by Chris Barnett

I got the smaller crane (1 ton) at HF for $129 when it was on sale. I liked the smaller footprint and lighter weight. My problem with Northern Tool has always been their shipping costs.

The hoist pictured in Paul's post is exactly like the one in the back of my Jeep , even the color, and it includes the equalizer bar. Paid $129 plus tax, and no shipping cause it took me 15 minutes to get there and buy it from Northern. Their book shows $159 on [normal] sale, but that is not their sale price.
Now if I can figure out how to use it to lift my band saw so I can slip a mobile base under it.
