Excellently done. I was looking to build one similar to that on wheels. I love the idea of having it with the mortiser/planer and such down below. If you would be as kind as to post some dimensions i would love to take your idea and use it as a base for my own. I think you must have read my mind on what i want when you made yours. (but with wheels)

I assume those drawer slides are the 100lb rated ones from the borg?

I have to ask... did you edgeband the front doors or are those solid wood? Either way, that is a heck of an investment and attention to detail for a workbench.

    Workbench Plans

The bench is not screwed to the wall, it's just really heavy. Without the doors and drawers I can barely lift just one side.

The doors/drawers are 3/4 birch ply wrapped with 1/4" solid birch.

I used the 100 lb full extension slides on the drawers and 130lb on the pull out shelves that I bought from Custom Service Hardware. $8.82 for the 100 lb, and $13.18 for the 130 lb. Prices are cheaper if you buy a quantity.

I attached a picture on my plans for the bench, I used TurboCAD to draw it. If anyone has TurboCAD and wants the CAD file just let me know.

I built this bench several years ago, even with the wheels I it it a chore to move around the shop by myself. I had 250lb casters on it and they didn't last long. These are rated for 600 lbs a piece and have not broken yet.

    Looks Great, Todd.

I'm about to embark on something very similar to use as an outfeed/assembly table with storage for my spindle sander and air compressor.

What's under the hardboard? Did you build a 2x4 frame with plywood a la Norm or something else?
