Help with a Plank Top Bench

I would like to build a plank top bench to go in our post and beam barn. It needs to be about 3' x 6' x 36" high. It will serve as a multi-purpose bench for my wife to do flower arrangements and some other gardening tasks. I want to use pine to match the barn interior. I was thinking of southern yellow pine for the plank top. I am looking for plans and suggestions.

When I remodled our kitchen the old cabinets fould a new home in my garage/shop. I also aquired some 2x12 fir planks from a free large shipping crate 5'x20'. These were cut to fit the base cabinets where the old counter top was. Made a great work bench, very rugged and durable. Any type of cabinet style frame should work equally well in your case. Good luck with the project.
