    My first bandsaw box

Well this is my first attempt at a band saw box. It is not perfect but it was a learning experience. I now have a much better understanding of my bandsaw. This is made from Silkwood. Very nice wood to work with. It was finished with Para Woodcare Acrylic Urethane.

    Thanks for looking

    Rick,
This is a fun piece and very nicely done. Can you give us some rough dimensions?

    Cool

That box is really cool. Is it made from Lacewood?

I've never done a bandsaw box but that is pretty inspirational. I can't believe that is a first attempt. That looks like a fun design. Congratulations on a real nice piece.

That's Great!! I'm impresses and inspired by your work. If that's your first one I'd say that you have some talent. I've always thought of bandsaw boxes as being freeform, but this design is much different.

I started my wood butchering hobby 6 years ago when I retired with bandsaw boxes. Even took a class on them. They are a lot of fun and I've also seen quite a few at woodworking shows. I have yet to see a "perfect" bandsaw box. The more you sand one part to look better the larger gap it leaves to the adjoining part. You did a terrific job and that design is very cool.
I cut it twice and it's still too short.

That's a very cool BS box especially for your first one. I believe that was on the front of a ww'ing catalog? Lee Valley? Very nice job!

that is a really cool box - very nice! It's always neat to see something really unique - i don't think i've ever wanted a bandsaw box, but that one changes my mind!

Sweet! Love the design and exploitation. You have a great imagination that you've materialized. Look forward to numero dos.

ps: if one was to sell something like that, I'd be thinking about 350-500 dollars (in the Baltimore/DC area anyway. Any other ideas?

Thanks for everyones feedback. This is my first attempt at a band saw box so I cannot take credit for the design. One thing for sure is now I have a better feel for my Laguna and it was nice to have 3HP backing me up. I have a second one in the sanding process using different wood so it should be interesting so see the grain on the next one.
