    Question Best clamps for corners?

Can anyone suggest which clamps might be best to glue up a face frame with mitered corners?
    Thanks

I like band clamps for mitered frames. They give you equal pressure all around and will square your frame even if the miters are off little. Band clamps are also a good way to check you miters. Dry clamp you frame and see if you miters ar on.

I can't say that I have ever seen mitered corners on a face frame.

    Ed,

I've seen them...just a different way to do them.

    Dennis,

I like Bessey's band clamp for doing such things. It is GREAT to clamp it up dry to see how things fit as Rich alluded to. Google around for the best price.

I would vote for a band clamp.

I used mitered corners on my shop cabinets.
I just like the look if mitered corners.

On the face frames that I made with mitered corners I use dowels so it was very easy to clamp up with bar clamps.

As has been stated band clamp would work the best I would say.

I have two different band clamps, they both look a lot alike but there is one big difference in them. The one has spring loaded locks for the band with is much better then the one you have to flip over by hand.

I am a lone ranger(sort've) on this subject, but I really like the Maestro spring clamps for mitered corners.

For picture frames I use a shop made spider X shape looking thing but a face frame would probably be to big. Maybe a micro pinner to hold the corners together. If it was placed from the top or sides it wouldn't be visible.

I have been thinking about picking up the hot melt polyurethane glue system, it would seem to be good for something like this. Squirt a little in and hold for 30 seconds.

Clam Clamps - these are the BEST, IMHO, for miters!

Great right ups on the web about them. I have two, used for trimming doors.

No affiliation - just satisfied. I read about them on Gary Katz's site.
