I need a refresher please. If memory serves, Brazilian cherry is known as "jatoba". I'm looking for a wood named (I think) "movado" (or something close to that). Is that Peruvian cherry?
Thanks.

Morado is the wood I think you are looking for. Or it could be Monterillo. Fair warning, monterillo smells like POOP when you sand it or turn it.
What you listen to is your business....what you hear is ours.
Morado is Bolivian Rosewood or Pau Ferro, Machaerium scleroxylon. Jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril), is sometimes called Brazilian or South American Cherry, but is not in anyway related to cherry that We know

That's exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks y'all!!
