There's always been speculation that Corel output is somehow more stepped than is optimal. So I decided to test this out, and found it to be untrue.

Working with a LaserproExplorer, I printed a circle to file. Turns out that the file is HPGL with a monster header. If you strip the header and change the file type to PLT, you can read it back into Corel as a vector image.

What I found is that the driver puts out segments that are about .006" long. That's about 150dpi, and it looks just like a circle in Corel.
