This is the first piece I turned in 2008. It is buckeye burl and measures 6-1/2" dia. x 3-1/4" tall with the walls at 3/16" thick. Finished with antique oil and beall buffed. As always critiques/comments are welcome. Thanks for looking.

Let me be the first to say that that is a beautiful piece! The flowing line really shows off the great wood, and it's all capped off with a beautiful finish. Great job!
Keith....that is gorgeous.....the wood is so beautifully busy and the form really accentuates the wood's beauty. Nicley done sir!

Wow, what a nice piece of wood! Great form and finish. Nice job! Wish I could find some wood with popping grains like this.

Keith - another splendid example of form! Great looking wood - keeps the eyes moving! I'm still working on that consistent 3/16" thickness stuff.... another 50 hollow forms or so and I should have it figured out!
Again, this is a great example of form - thanks for posting!

I agree with these guys. When the wood is that beautiful, simplicity of form is perfect.

Very impressive and it brings up a question. (I have only done two hollowed forms and just got two pieces of buckeye burl suitable for hollowing.) Does hollowing buckeye burl require heavy use of CA glue to hold it together? If so, does the CA stain the burl? (If I can figure out how to make my photos smaller I'll post some of the 1st two attempts)
