Rubbing out finish to gloss sheen

I am finally getting close to my last coat of shellac and I was wanting a gloss finish. I was planning on rubbing out with mineral spirits and Pumice/rottenstone (sp?) when I started to think. I have some open pitch pockets that I chose to leave open because I like the look. I also have a couple of places with some small tear out that I did not notice until I was sanding between coats of shellac. If I rubout with pumice am I going get the slurry stuck in all the crevasses and not be able to get it out? I think that may not look to good.
I just want to live happily ever after,
    every now and then.

Yes, the slury will get into the crevices, and you should have no problem cleaning it out with a toothbrush, a little bit of mineral spirits and some compressed air.

(edit) I will also use a dark wax when rubbing out, as any dark wax left in crevices gives it that aged look.
